Flowers & Its uses in our Daily Life

Flowers are beautiful miracles around us. Mother Earth has blessed us with various shades of flowers. The uses of flowers in our daily life are continuously increasing. From the Tulips in the Netherlands to Pink Rhododendron and Brahm Kamal in the Himalayas to Nelakurunjee that blooms every 12 years in the Western Ghats, every corner of our planet is incredibly rich in unique flowers.

Significance Of Flowers

Flowers are highly significant in our lives. Every Occasion from Birth to Death is marked by the presence of flowers. Flowers symbolize positivity, fortune, celebration, prosperity, love, care, forgiveness, and hope. Flowers are a beautiful way of expressing emotions. They add meaning to our lives like red roses, which are the best way to express love and romance.

Flowers also have moral significance like the lotus signifies purity and enlightenment as it maintains its virtue and innocence despite growing in between the muddy waters and therefore respectfully earns its identity as the National Flower of India. Likewise, Lilies represent motherhood in Greek Culture, and Orchids represent charm, fertility, and virility.

In ancient Rome, brides carried flowers to ward off evil spirits and encourage fertility. In Indian Culture flower signifies purity. Indian rituals and rites are incomplete without flowers. In Hinduism God is associated with flowers like Lotus with Goddess Saraswati and Lakshmi, yellow marigold with Lord Brihaspati, etc.

Uses of Flowers in our daily lives 

Every religious and cultural festival From the North pole to the South Pole, wedding flower decorations, Valentine gifts, and birthday celebrations need the fragrance and positive hue of colorful flowers.

Roses, lilies, jasmine, and Carnations are also thoughtful ways to ask for forgiveness, pay tribute, express gratefulness, support faster recovery, and is a sweet reminder of friendship, love, and care.

White, pink and yellow lilies, purple orchids, colourful roses and carnations can be used to break the monotony and tiredness of office desks, study tables, meeting rooms, counselling halls. Their fragrance and luminosity provide an easy escape into the world of freshness and hope.

The ambience and aura set by the presence of flowers in the housewarming parties, group studies, get together, is perfect for merrymaking.

Flowers make our sweet home heaven. Their aroma fills our living space with happiness and positivity. It converts the daily dullness and lifelessness into lively and joyful space.

Not to forget, upset or sad lovers or spouses, friends or parents would love to have flowers. 

They do make apologies easy.

Can an Indian bride, imagine her Haldi function without trinkets made of flowers? No, I guess, as the petals spread gracefulness and elegance around her, that can’t be missed.

The daily tiredness and exhaustion can be best dealt with by a lavish bath in warm water filled with rose petals.
